Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about UCARE:

• How do I get started?

• What is my participant center? 
• The participant center is loaded with online tools that will help set up and organize your fundraising efforts. Here, you can customize your personal page and web address, send emails to family and friends, track your progress, and more.
  
  
• Can I choose where my funds go?
• Yes, when creating your page, just select from the drop-down menu and choose the area that you wish to support.  At this time, you are not able to donate directly to a physician through UCARE. The best way to honor them and support their work is to pick the fund which supports their specialty.
  
  
• Is there a minimum fundraising requirement?
• There is no minimum requirement to fundraise through UCARE. Feel free to set a fundraising goal that works for you — from $50 to $50,000. It all helps to make a difference.
  
  
• Do I have to complete my fundraising within a particular time frame?
• No, but setting a time frame lends itself to a successful fundraising effort, which will help you reach your goal.
  
  
• What if one of my supporters does not wish to make my donation online?
• They can visit the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine “Giving” page at http://www.med.miami.edu/giving and click on “Make a gift.”
  
  
• Can I do a matching gift for my company?
• To see if your organization takes part, visit the Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine “Giving” page at http://www.med.miami.edu/giving and click on “Make a gift.”
  
  
• Are donations tax deductible and how do I get a receipt?
• The University of Miami is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, tax-exempt organization designated by the internal revenue code. All online donations receive a tax receipt via email.
  
  
• What does "Private" mean under the Personal Fundraising Tab in my Participant Center?
• By selecting "Private" under the UCare Personal Fundraising Page tab, you are removing your page from our UCare homepage listing of "Top Fundraisers." Your UCare page will remain searchable in public search engine crawlers and indexing. This is a public platform.
  
  
• How can I retrieve my UCARE Personal Fundraising Page URL through my Participant Center?
• Log into UCARE via https://www.miami.edu/UCARE
• If you forgot your username or password, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on "website feedback" to email us at UCAREGIVING@miami.edu. 
• Next, click on the "Participant Center" orange button.
• Locate and click on the "Personal Fundraising Page" tab.
• Finally, click on the "View Personal Fundraising Page" link located under the tab title. 
• This will open your UCARE Personal Fundraising Page in a new tab. From here, you can copy/paste the URL for sharing purposes.
• Note, at the bottom of the UCARE Personal Fundraising Page, you have buttons to initiate sharing with your network via social media or email. 
  
  
• Will my address, phone number, and email address be used for anything else? 
• The privacy of our donors is paramount to us, and we do not share or sell this information.
